Natalia Dubovik
I'm a city guide, photographer, teacher, author and owner of Photostroll-spb.com project in St Petersburg.
⠀
I've been showing my beloved city to travelers for over 9 years.
I was born in a town of Cherepovets, lived a year and a half in New Jersey, and moved to Saint Petersburg in 2008.
I graduated A Foreign Languages Institute and completed several courses on history, art, culture, architecture, photography and journalism.
I'm an avid reader of books about Petersburg.
You may see me with English, French, and Russian speaking tourists.
I also teach English & Russian as foreign language, and work with theaters as interpreter.
I'm working on my very own guide book that will include lesser known and unobvious attractions and places to see.
Recently written a cool & fun Russian phrasebook for travellers (French version is coming too!).
I love contemporary French music.
I'm a proud cat owner. My Sophie likes to walk me on a lawn near our home.
Once I've petted a koala, several kangaroos and a wombat - all in one day !
I'm a big hugger. There are people hugged by me in every corner of the world.
I enjoy being the first person you meet here, and showing you around on your first day, giving you plenty of ideas and advice for your solo discoveries. Also have fun taking you on strolls for savvy tourists.
If you've seen everything from the guide book I will know the places to show you: a local "Bermuda triangle" , a massive architectural wonder - the apartment building that takes up the entire block, an anti-cafe in a former mansion or a semi-destroyed church that once was a dance hall. Awe-inspiring memories are guaranteed.
My tours and photostrolls are not boring historic lessons.
I am a story teller that won’t bother you with tons of facts, but rather entertain you with urban legends, interesting stories, and funny jokes. I create vivid images of the years gone by based on historic facts and memoirs of people who lived in the city. You will bring many of these stories back home.
I offer :
- individual walking tours and mini-groups auto/bus tours
- information support and advice before and during your trip if you need it.
I will make your trip safe and stress-free. I understand the hassle to be in a country where you can’t understand the language and can’t even read the street signs. I will guide you through all that with my knowledge and understanding. I speak English and French and offer walking tours in the historic downtown as well as lesser known districts of the city.
